16.11.2009 - CAMILLO PLACì AWARDED IN SPECCHIA AND VISITING THE SCHOOLS
Camillo Placì, assistant coach of Trenkwalder Modena and Bulgarian National team, will live two important moments tomorrow, on Tuesday and on Wednesday in Specchia (Lecce), his mother country.
On Tuesday 17th November at 7.00 p.m there will be the “Serata d’Onore for Camillo Placì” at the Sala Consiliare, a municipal administration’ s iniziative dedicated to the volleyball technician from Specchia in order to give him a public recognition for having distinguished himself in Italy and all over the world for sport worthiness, promoting the image of sport from Salento at the highest levels and bringing prestige to his native community. On Wednesday 18th Placì will meet the students of Morciano di Leuca, Salve and Specchia’s institutes for the iniziative “Campioni si diventa…”.
Camillo Placì, sport’ s Ambassador and honorary president of the School Pallavolo Salve, after having conquered the Olympic bronze medal with the Russian national team in Peking (covering the role of assistant coach of Vladimir Alenko, coach of the National volleyball team of Moscow), he became the Ambassador of volleyball from Salento in the world.
Last September Bulgaria obtained the third place in European Championship after 26 years, winning the bronze medal thanks to Placì too. Furthermore, Bulgaria had already qualified for the World Championship of volleyball that will be played in Italy in September 2010.
Camillo Placì, who was born in Specchia (Lecce) on 11th november 1956, will continue to be side by side with Silvano Prandi, still with the Bulgarian volley national, with whjch they submitted a biennial contract that foresees a renewal of the agreement for other two seasons (until the London Olympic games of 2012 and always with the assistance of the coach from Salento) in case of good results at the Europeans of 2009 and at the World Championship of 2010.
The technician from Salento has a significative professional background which began in Puglia during the eighties with Volley Specchia and then with Victor Village Ugento, Calmiera and between A and B male series, but his first arrival in Cuneo was in 1997, when Silvano Prandi had already had the chance to appreciate his efficient collaboration. Then, after some seasons with Taviano, Corigliano and Pineto, in 2005 Placì was called again from Prandi in order to organize and follow the youth team of Trento. Finally, when the Professor returned to Cuneo to guide the line-up of A1 in 2005, he asked the Society to have Placì as his assistant on the bench of Bre Banca Lannutti, collaboration that ended during the last championship and with the arrival of Trenkwalder Modena.
The collaborative relationship between Placì and the Russian Federation was also born in Cuneo.
In march 2008 Silvano Prandi gave hospitality to Vladimir Alekno, coach of Moscow National team, who was in Italy for some technical updates. During the examination of the work done by the technical staff of Bre Banca Lannutti, the russian coach was so positevely impressed that he asked to Silvano Prandi the possibility of availing himself of his precious assistant, in order to prepare the Russian team as well as possibile for his adventure at the World League 2008 and at the Olympic games of Peking, bringing for two times the team at the third place.

PALAPANININI – In front of the 3000 spectators of Palapanini, Trenkwalder Modena conquers 3 important points for the ranking at the end of a very balanced match. Prisma Taranto, infact, played a very good match carried by its opposite Rivaldo and the brazilian compatriot Cleber, but the gialloblù were more careful and incisive during the hot moments of all the 3 sets. Modena, in which Pisopo is still not available and Pagni and Kooistra are not at their best, relied on Dennis (19 points) and Meszaros (12 with 65% in attack).That of today was a victory of the whole group, with the decisive entrance of Biribanti and Casòli (the last point was his) and the good performance of Pagni (71% in attack, 1 ace and 2 walls).
The hungarian hitter of Trenkwalder Domotor Meszaros was rewarded as Mvp of the match.
Trenkwalder Modena confirms itself at the second place in ranking with 22 points, while Prisma Taranto remains stable with 13 points.
Silvano Prandi (coach of Trenkwalder): “It was a balanced match and probably the result is a bit ungenerous for Taranto. The points are very important because they let us stay in high position. The ranking? We want to think one match at a time and obviously I am very happy for the results we obtained. Now we would like to stay in these positions, we will do our best to enter in the first four positions by the end of the first half of the season”.
Paolo Montagnani (coach of Prisma): “I’ m happy for the guys’ performance, with our service we submitted Modena in a lot of circumstances. We regret the final, especially the first set in which we could recriminate some arbitral decisions”.

Then the character of this team came out, but this is not something new, even when the situation is difficult Trento can do it. Now we have important points in ranking, an advantage that is necessary to administer in the next weeks in order to give some rest to people who have worked more".

PALAPANINI – Good test this afternoon for Trenkwalder Modena that, at Palasport Giuseppe Panini won 5-0 against Canadiens Mantova of A2 serie in a friendly test.
Coach Prof. Silvano Prandi initially lined up the diagonals Esko-Dennis, Diaz-Kooy, Piscopo-Kooistra, Manià libero and during the match he gave space to all the others too. On the other side of the net, the trainer Totire played with the Denish bouncer Iacobsen, Antonov opposite, Barbareschi and Benito as hitters,the brazilians Miraglia and Leonardi as centrals, Tognazzoni libero.
The Ct of Nazionale Italiana Maschile Andrea Inastasi assisted to the match.
And next week it will be a particularly intense one for the gialloblù: on Sunday, 8th november, at 18 p.m there will be in Piacenza the challenge against the Italian champions of Copratlantide,on Thursday evening 12th november at 20.30 there will be the match in Trento against Itas and, finally, on Sunday 15th november, Dennis and his guys will return to PalaPanini for the match against Taranto.

Trenkwalder Modena will be one of the protagonists of tomorrow evening’s episode, Thursady 5th November, of “Sì viaggiare”, the TG2’ s program ( on air on Rai Due at 18.30 p.m).
”Sì Viaggiare” has realized a reportage about different aspects of young people from Modena (culture, gastronomy, night movida , sport) and the journalist Silvia Vaccarezza has interviewed the gialloblù athletes Angel Dennis and Fabio soli at Modena's Palasport Giuseppe Panini, talking about their human and professional experience in sport and about Modena's volleyball tradition.
”Sì Viaggiare” also visited the Palanderlini in order to know the reality of Anderlini’s school of volleyball.

The last weekend passed between training and rest for Trenkwalder Modena, whose match against Trento has been postponed to Thursday 12 November.
Today, Tuesday 3rd, the gialloblù trained at Palasport G.Panini in a double session between the weights and the parquet of play. On Sunday, 8th november, Dennis and his fellows will be engaged in Piacenza against Copratlantide.
“During these last days we have done a good work from all points of view: physical,technical and tactical – said today the hitter Domotor Meszaros – Now we are preparing for the match of Piacenza: we will play against the Italian champions, so we must respect a very strong team, one of the candidates for the final victory in this season too. But we also trust in our abilities: we are a team who can win against anyone! It will be a very difficult match and we will have to do our best on every single ball”.
JOINED TRAINING. On Thursday, 5th november, at 17.30 Trenkwalder will do a joined test/training with Canadiens Mantova of A2 Serie at Palasport Giuseppe Panini.
