06.02.2007 - WEDNESDAY AT PALAPANINI TOP TEAMS CUP. REDUCED TICKET PRICES
The expectation is growing for the match in Europe. After the great victory over Macerata on Sunday and the second place in the A1 Tim League, Cimone Volley is concentrating on Top Teams Cup.
On Wednesday evening at 20.30 at the Palapanini in Modena, the second round of the quarter finals will take place against the Turkish team of Arkas Izmir and the Cimone Volley team are looking for a performance that will take them through to the Final Four.
After the 3-2 defeat in the first round, Cimone Volley must now try to win the second round and then, as the rules state, also win the play-off.
“ To win four sets against a good team like the turkish one is not an easy job but we can do it and we want to do it” said Cimone Volley’s trainer Bruno Bagnoli. “ I would like to make an appeal to our fans to fill the Palapanini on Wednesday night to support us in this important match.’
Due to the Cimone Volley – Arkas Izmir match, Pallavolo Modena has decided to lower the ticket prices. These are the ticket prices: STALLS 10 EURO (REDUCED RATE 8 EURO): STANDS 5 EURO (REDUCED RATE 3 EURO).
Season ticket holders will be able to enter for free.

04.02.2007 - CIMONE VOLLEY-LUBE MACERATA 3-1. MERCOLEDI' AL PALAPANINI LA TOP TEAMS CUP
Infront of a crowd of 3500 at the Palapanini, Cimone Volley continue their success in the A1 TIM League and win 3-1 against the Italian Champions, Lube Macerata (25-20 25-21 21-25 25-23) in the third day of the second round. The Cimone Volley team, without Sartoretti and Sidao (substituted by Giombini and Tagliatti) dominated for the first 2 sets, after which the match evened out. Murilo ( who was awarded the best player of the match) and Ricardinho urged their teammates along with a match full of character and quality from all the group.
The three points won allow Cimone Volley to reach a quota of 33 and to rise to second place in the league table.

TOP TEAMS CUP. On Wednesday night Cimone Volley will be on the pitch for a very important match: At 20.30 at the Palapanini in Modena, Cimone Volley will face Izmir in the quarter finals of the Top Teams Cup. To make it through to the next round, Giani and team mates will have to beat their defeat of the first round, by winning the match and the play off.
Entrance to the match is free to all season ticket holders, while there are special prices for the non-members: Stalls 8 Euro (reduced rate 5 Euro) and Stands 5 Euro (reduced rate 3 Euro).

Cimone Volley have lost the first round of the Top Teams Cup quarter finals . Next Wednesday at Palapanini the second round will be played.

Cimone Volley started the match with the diagonals Ricardinho-Sartoretti, Felipe-Murilo, Sidao-Rak and Messana libero, while the hosts had Keskin, Duerden as right side hitter, Suela and Gaston Giani
as smashers, Oner and Pasaoglu as middle blockers and Kandemir as libero. The first two sets were equally balanced but were won in the end by Modena, while in the third set Cimone Volley made a few too many errors. During the third set Sartoretti came off due to a physical problem and was replaced by Giombini. In the fourth set the host team were still leading and Cimone Volley made some changes: Casтli replaced Murilo, Bellini replaced Ricardinho and Giani replaced Giombini.
In the fifth set Bagnoli drew up the follwing diagonals: Ricardinho-Giani, Murilo-Felipe and Rak-Sidao. Modena found itself ahead 9-7 and the set is very close. Three match points for Cimone Volley (13-14 14-15 15-16) were cancelled by the attacks from the host team. At 16-16 Felipe attacks with a ‘pipe’and the wall point ends the match (18-16). To pass through to the next round and so pass to the Final Four of Top Teams Cup, Cimone Volley must win the second round which will take place next Wednesday February 7 at the Palapanini and also win the play-off match.
Meanwhile on Sunday the A1 TIM League Championship returns and a great match is scheduled at the Palapanini (starting at 18.05): Cimone Volley – Lube Macerata (valid for the third round). The advance sale of tickets is already available from the branches of the ‘Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna’ and from the Palapanini offices in Modena. Cimone Volley win another three precious points and move up to third position in the league table.
The Cimone Volley team, in the second day of the second round of the A1 TIM League have been glorious on the pitch at Antonveneta Padova, winning 3-0.
Next Sunday at Palapanini, a match against Lube Macerata is scheduled. The Cimone Volley team has already left for Top Teams Cup: This morning the team flew in the direction of Turkey in a private aeroplane where tomorrow night, Tuesday, at 19.00, they will face Izmir in the first round of the quarter finals of Top Teams Cup.

24.01.2007 - THE PARTY CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF MODENA VOLLEYBALL AT 'FORUM MONZANI'
It was a party full of emotions, thrills and memories, with the outlook towards the future.
Yesterday evening at 'Forum Monzani' of 'Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna of Modena' there was a party to celebrate forty years of volleyball in Modena (1966/67 - 2006/7) organised by Pallavolo Modena.
Twenty of the thirty Hall of Fame champions were present at the event and were each presented with a personalised ball and sweatshirt.
It was a splendid evening presented by Lorenzo Dallari and Veronique Blasi: Images of 40 years of emotions and success were projected onto the big screen, on the stage that the golden boys had made the history of volleyball in Modena.
This is the list of athletes from the Hall of Fame and the winners of the competition reserved for the fans for the election of a Timeless Super Team.

17.01.2007 - Cimone Volley – Czestochowa 4-0. Great achievement in the Top Teams Cup! Cimone Volley through to quarter finals
Cimone Volley are continuing to do well in Europe! The team won 3-0 (25-21 32-30 25-19) the second round of the eighth round of Top Teams Cup in Polond at Czestochowa by beating the first round score of 1-3. As the competition rules state, there was a play-off set which won it for Cimone Volley 27-25. It was a great ending with the last two points scored by the brasilian Felipe with two aces!
It was a high quality match played on a red-hot court. Cimone, without Ricardinho and Cardona who stayed in Modena, with Bellini, Giombini as right side hitter, Felipe and Murilo as strikers, Rak and Sidao as middle blockers and Messana as defender.
The whole team performed well, with Giombini scoring 23 points (with 6 from the wall), Murilo scoring 21 and 18 from Felipe ( 4 aves).
And so Cimone Volley go through to the quarter finals of Top Teams Cup where they will face the Turkish team of Arkas Izmir who beat the Greek team of Thessaloniki. The first round will take place on Wednesday January 31 in Turkey with the second round on Wednesday February 7 at the Palapanini in Modena.
Next Sunday Felipe and his team mates will play in the Championship at 18.00 at Palapanini against Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia, in the first day of the second round of the A1 TIM League.

15.01.2007 - LATINA – CIMONE VOLLEY 2-3. CIMONE VOLLEY IN THE ITALIAN CUP AGAINST SISLEY
Cimone Volley took the difficult Maggiora Latina court with force as they ended the first round in fifth place and earned the pass to go through to the Final Eight of the Italian Cup.
The win was thanks to all the Cimone Volley players: without Sartoretti and Cardona, with Giani and Ricardo not at their best, Cimone showed once again that they have a high quality team of players.
In the quarter finals of the Italian Cup (Bassano del Grappa, March 1), Cimone Volley will face Sisley Treviso. For now however, Cimone Volley are only thinking about the quarter finals of Top Teams Cup, scheduled for Wednesday in Poland in Czestochowa: Murilo and his team mates must beat the 1-3 result of the first round.
