Next Monday, the 22nd of September, Trenkwalder Modena will present itself officially at its home base: the “Tempio del Volley” (Volley Temple).
The whole team, the technical staff and the management will get on stage at the indoor sports arena to present themselves to friends, partners and fans on Monday the 22nd from 9 pm at PalaPanini (Viale dello Sport 25 in Modena).
On Monday night the doors of Palasport Giuseppe Panini will be open for aall Gialloblù fans!
For those who have already taken out a subscription it will also be the pleasant occasion to collect Andrea Giani’s book “Una Vita in Volo” for free.
Subscribers who want to collect it on Monday night have to bring their season tickets for 2008/2009 with them.
Andrea Giani will be on hand for all fans from 8.30 pm to 9 pm in the entrance hall of PalaPanini to sign his book.

Palasport Giuseppe Panini (Modena) – A nice victory was reached by Trenkwalder Modena in the prestigious friendly match of today’s afternoon at Palasport Giuseppe Panini against Panathinaikos Athens, the line-up that will join the next Champions League. A very positive performance of the Gialloblù team that’s preparing itself for its debùt in the championship (Monday the 29th of September in Montichiari).
Andrea Giani (without Lee, Murilo and Dennis) has lined up setter Travica with Kooistra opposite hitter, Sartoretti and Siebeck hitters in position 4, Tencati and Sidao central. Whereas Panathinaikos played with Psrass in charge, Agamez opposite hitter, Andrae and Lapps hitters, Geric and Pantaleon central and Stefanov opposite hitter. From the second set Pagni in the field for Sidao, while from the third set hitter Bartoli played central for Tencati. First set in favour of the Greeks who were better at service and replay, while during the second set the Gialloblù set off and made the difference with blocks and with a great Siebeck. The third set is for Panathinaikos dragged by Agamez, but Trenkwalder wins the fourth set with Smuc in charge and with Pagni (5 personal blocks in total) and Kooistra (6 blocks in the match), determinded in attacks and blocks. The fifth set very balanced (still with Smuc as setter): in the end Modena wins 19-17.
Dragan Travica (Trenkwalder Modena setter): “It was a good test: also today showed that we are working a lot and well in this training period. We’re trying to find harmony in a new team and the feelings are positive. Sartoretti hitter? What can we say about Sarto: he has experience and quality, he doesn’t make us feel the change in position; and in the field he’s a player of great character, I would say a real captain. Kooistra? Really good, he is growing and so is our understanding. I’m also satisfied on a personal level: for now we go on working this way”.
On Sunday, from 4.30 pm, Trenkwalder Modena will play a fascinating tournament at Palasport di Carpi (Modena) with Copra Piacenza and Yoga Forlì.

17.09.2008 - ANDREA GIANI: "THE GROUP IS GROWING". TOMORROW, THURSDAY, TEST AT PALAPANINI WITH PANATHINAIKOS
After the transfer in Finland to join an international tournament, Trenkwalder Modena is in the sports club again from Tuesday to train at Palasport Giuseppe Panini while it’s facing the beginning of the championship (Monday the 29th of September “Monday Night” in Montichiari).
This morning we had a moment at the Gialloblù home base with trainer Andrea Giani. “The tournament in Finland? Very positive experience, it was important to play these matches in this part of the season. We did well in the first two (with Valepa and Eltmann), in the third (with Loimu) I shuffled the cards a bit and put the young players in the game, and we were able to manage the fifth set a lot better (Modena won 8-2 and 14-11 before yielding 17-15). I would have liked it if the young players had the satisfaction of winning that match. In general I’m satisfied with this month and a half of training: I see so much enthousiasm, I see a group that’s growing and I am struck by the self-sacrifice and effort the guys put into every training – continues Andrea Giani – The casualties? We shouldn’t think about who isn’t there (Dennis, Lee and Murilo). We are very confident and think positively, this is the team that will play in Montichiari and we know we can do very well. Travica and Kooistra? The “diagonal” is going up. Wytze is getting more and more confident in his new position, sure, he still has to work on some types of balls, especially the spike, but he has everything he needs to reach high levels, while Dragan appears to be the “catch” of the leader.

After the victory against the Finnish Valepa and the German Eltmann, this afternoon the Gialloblù lost 2-3 in the last match of the manifestation against the Finnish Loimu dragged by the two Argentinians Nicola and Guidolin. Trenkwalder played with Smuc in charge, Kooistra opposite, Siebeck and the young Alberto Bigarelli as hitters, Tencati and Pagni central and Ciabattini libero. Travica, Sidao, Sartoretti, Rinaldi and Bartoli didn't play. A good heat from Gialloblù, that started the match very well. A good approach that wasn't repeated in the second set however, with the Germans dragged by the young central Bauer, fresh European vice-champion with the national German Juniores, responsible for a good five blocks. But after undergoing the getting even of Eltmann, Trenkwalder controls the match again and scores the second success on Finnish land. In the line of defense of the Modenese the central Brazilian Sidao finished with a more than positive 70% in attacks and Kooistra getting more and more into his new position and apart from resulting the top scorer of Trenkwalder also achieved four blocks. Tomorrow last appointment of the tournament that celebrates 50 years of the Club Raision Loimu. Today Andrea Giani's team has entered the field for the first match against the Finnish Valepa Vammala who partecipate in the Challenge Cup. It's been a great welcome for Trenkwalder Modena: the local audience was so enthusiastic that they filled every space in the small sports centre of Raiso (few kilometres from Turku) and presentation the American way for all the players who entered the field. For the match Andrea Giani (without Lee, Murilo and Dennis) lined up the team that could play the first match of the championship in Montichiari: Travica in charge, Kooistra opposite, Siebeck and Sartoretti hitters, Tencati and Sidao central, Rinaldi libero. Trenkwalder showed growth: the heat of the whole group was good and especially the achievements of Sidao, probably the best in field (17 points with 2 blocks and 3 aces), other than the 5 blocks Sartoretti lined as receiving hitter. The Gialloblù arrived in Finland yesterday and today they did a double training session: in the morning in the well equipped training room of the hotel in Turku, while in the afternoon in Raisio, a few kilometres from Turku, in the elegant sports centre that will guest the international tournament from tomorrow to celebrate 50 years of the Club. This afternoon Trenkwalder Modena arrived at Turku. The Gialloblù left for Finland this morning from the airport in Bergamo. At lunchtime they disembarked in Tampere where they took the bus (about 200km) to Turku where a tournament will take place next weekend to celebrate 50 years of the hosting Club, Club Raision Loimu. The Trenkwalder guys encountered a cloudy sky in Finland and a harsh climate compared to Italy. Tomorrow, Thursday 11, double training sessions for Gialloblù, on Friday the tournament starts in which apart from the host and Trenkwalder Modena, also Valepa (Finnish A1 Series team) and Eltmann (German A1 Series team) will join. 09.09.2008 - TRAVICA AND SMUC, THE CONTROL OF TRENKWALDER IS FOR YOU... FIRST LIVE BROADCASTS SKY
They are the "conductors of the Gialloblù orchestra" and they will be given the control of the Trenkwalder Modena 2008/2009. Dragan Travica and Tomislav Smuc: the first a young Italian talent, the second a more experienced Slovenian. This morning, just before leaving for Turku (Finland), where Modena will play an international four-sided tournament, we met with the two setters of Trenkwalder. "Quantity, intensity and quality: I would define the first three months of training in Modena with these three words - underlines Dragan Travica, 22-year-old setter, 2 metres tall, born in Zagreb but completely Italian and the main actor in the summer with the national team of Andrea Anastasi - We're working so hard and with so much enthusiasm, we could say that the great physical part is partly done already, now we will concentrate on everything implied by "creating" a team and obviously improve our athletic condition. We are a very close group and we train because we really want to grow on both an individual and a team level. I already knew Giani as a person and as a team-mate and I never have had any doubts about him. Although I have to admit that's he's pleasantly surprising me: he is very prepared, serene and sure of what he passes on to us. It's not easy to find all of this in a trainer: we don't ever do anything randomly, every training is engaging and prepared into detail and we players are being reassured by great technical and physical staff that's following us in every move. Giani "makes life difficult for us" in the positive meaning of the word: advice, teaching, details, anything that can help to improve. The team is growing every day and at the moment we are also awaiting two real quality players with a lot of experience; Murilo and Lee. I have to say I'm very sorry for Dennis' injury. To us Angel is a fundamental player: he never pulls back in any training, he has a lot of quality, he entertains me and he entertains the team. Angel is a "silent" player, but very keen on redemption: when he comes back he will do great things. But I also want to say that Mark Siebeck surprised me: I didn't know him very well and I have discovered a player with very good technical skills. The National Championship? For me it's an aim, I am very attached to the national team, but I don't think about it, I mean, I'm aware of the fact that the National Championship is a consequence of how I play for the team in Modena - finishes Dragan Travica who has already played in Modena, both in the youth and the first team from 2003 to 2005. Tomislav Smuc arrived in Modena in the middle of last season and renewed his contract over the Summer and also the coming season he will be playing in Gialloblù: "I'm very happy to be here: I feel very well in Modena and the team is very strong - the Slovenian setter, born in 1976 in Ljubljana and 188cm tall, says - I know very well that Dragan is the first setter and I''m the second, but I work every part of the day to help him and the team. Trenkwalder has changed a lot, there are a lot of new players, there's a great wish for redemption. Our aim? First growing every day, playing a nice volleyball and then getting in the first eight of the Coppa Italia and then in the play-offs: at which point anything could happen...". The first live broadcasts on Sky TV are official. Trenkwald will start on Monday night on the 29th of September for the first day in Montichiari against Acqua Paradiso starting at 8.30 pm on Sky Sport 2. Trenkwalder Modena goes live again on the third day, the 12th of October. The match Marmi Lanza Verona-Trenkwalder Modena will be broadcast on Sky Sport 2 starting at 6.30 pm. Regarding the condition of the Trenkwalder Modena athlete Angel Dennis, Pallavolo Modena says that: The medical exams done at Modena Hospital under supervision of doctor Luigi Tarallo and doctor Ennio Gallo showed a stress microfracture at the level of the right heel bone. The player will face a period of partial load following the applying therapies. In 5/6 weeks time Dennis will be undergoing new exams. SEASON TICKETS FOR PALAPANINI.
