25.09.2008 - DAVID LEE AT INTERAUTO MERCEDES BENZ. "WHAT A WELCOME IN MODENA, WE'RE CONCENTRATING ON MONTICHIARI NOW..."

This morning a new Class A 180 CDI was given to David Cameron Lee at Interauto, Mercedes Benz agent in Via Cavani 80 in Modena, commercial partner of Pallavolo Modena. Apart from the American Olympic champion, doctor Angela Santi was present, director of Interauto Mecedes Benz, and Roberto Longagnani, branch manager. And it was the opportunity to meet David Lee in his first days in Modena, to talk about his physical condition and his first engagement in the championship: Monday night, on the 29th of September, at 8.30 pm in Montichiari (Live on Sky TV): "For now I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome they gave me in Modena - David Cameron Lee, 26-year-old central of 203 cm, best blocker at the Olympics in Beijing 2008 won by the United States, emphasises - Everybody welcomed me in the best way: everyone is friendly with me, I like the city and I already discovered that the food is excellent... As for my condition, I can't say when I will be in the field exactly. I'm working a lot on the ankle and the medical staff of the organisation follows me carefully every day. There are some steps I have to respect to get better: I would like to play as soon as possible but without pushing too much. In the meantime I've seen the team training, I'm always with them and I have to say the trainings are very intense and of high quality. Trenkwalder is a team with a lot of strong players, they all give everything all the time, it's clear they want to do well. We'll be complete with Murilo, Dennis and myself coming back, but we're already strong like this. I see enthusiasm, concentration and confidence amongst us, even if we know, of course, that Montichiari is a very competitive team. I'm curious to see the first match of the Italian championship: I know the value of players like Howard, Horstink, Gavotto, Esko, Sala and it will be a very difficicult match. It could be details that will make the difference in every set: a block, a defence, a replay or a service. I'll be in Montichiari: I want to be by the side of my teammates!". 24.09.2008 - AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE HOSPITAL-UNIVERSITY OF MODENA AND PALLAVOLO MODENA

The convention between the Hospital-University of Modena and Trenkwalder volley was presented this morning, Wednesday the 23rd of September. "We are happy and honoured that Trenkwalder Modena chose to sign this agreement with us - declares Stefano Cencetti, general director of the Hospital-University of Modena -. Sports is the way to a healthy life: doing sports helps to be healthy." Also Coni is a supporting company of the convention: "The convention is not only about top teams - Coni Modena's director Franco Bertoli adds -, but regards all Modenese sports." Also Pallavolo Modena vice director Pietro Pela is satisfied with the agreement: "First of all I would like to thank the Hospital of Sassuolo that we worked with las year. Moreover, we're very happy we had the possibility to join this convention that's had its effects even outside Modena." Doctor Alessandro Cristiani will be one of the three doctors of Pallavolo Modena, together with colleagues Ennio Gallo and Luigi Tarallo, according to the convention: "A typical point of the convention - doctor Cristiani explains - is the acceptation by the two contracting parties of an ethical code regarding the relationship between the medical team, the sports association and the technical staff in order to protect the fundamental rights of the athletes from practicing sports free of the use of doping, to inappropriate use of supplements, supported by a correct diet, to guarantee the present and future health of the athletes." In the picture from the left: Pietro Rinaldi (Trenkwalder Modena libero), doctor Ennio Gallo (director of radiology II complex of the hospital), Franco Bertoli (Coni provincial director), doctor Stefano Cencetti (general director of the Hospital-University of Modena), Pietro Pela (vice director of Pallavolo Modena), doctor Alessandro Cristiani (representative of the convention for the Hospital-University of Modena), Andrea Sartoretti (Trenkwalder Modena captain)
22.09.2008 - TRENKWALDER MODENA... "ON BOARD OF THE SHIP": HERE IS THE NEW SHIRT OF THE LIBERO

Gala evening at the Palasport Giuseppe Panini in Modena. A few days before the beginning of the A1 Series Championship (Modena will make its début on Monday the 29th of September in Montichiari), Trenkwalder Modena will present itself officially to all its fans, friends and supporters. Before the evening started (at 9 pm), a press conference was held to present the new shirt of the libero. Pietro Pela (Vice President of Pallavolo Modena), Leonardo Caponi (Sportive Director of Pallavolo Modena), Paolo Casarini of "Backstage" and Brand Manager of "One Piece" and the two liberos of Trenkwalder Modena Pietro Rinaldi and Edoardo Ciabattini gave acte de presence. Modena is the cradle of volleyball and has always been a springboard and a leading club on a national and international level. Like last season, Pallavolo Modena presents an ad hoc partnership again this year for the shirts of the liberos. After Marvel, there is an other prestigious and captivating supporter. The fortunate association of Backstage together with Toei Animation goes on with "One piece", one of the most appreciated animation series amongst the Italian audience, that the Japanese Licensor entrusted to the Modenese organisation again. "One Piece", known in Italy as "All'arrembaggio" (board a ship), is a Shonen Manga that came out first in Japan in 1997 and in Italy in 2001. In 1999 an animation has been made based on the fortunate cartoon, produced by Toei Animation. After the extraordinary success in Japan, Mediaset decided to program the series again from the beginning of July 2008 with 102 unpublished episodes. "One Piece", that is broadcasted 5 days a week at 4.05 pm, is getting very high ratings with an average of 1.700.000 viewers a day with peaks up to 2.300.000. Pietro Rinaldi and Edoardo Ciabattini, the two liberos of Trenkwalder Modena, will put Rubber's clothes on, the young pirate who dreams of having the power to elongate himself and change into any shape and who wants to become "King of the pirates". To reach that he will have to find the dream of every pirate: the legendary treasure "One Piece". There is a crew of 6 friends around him who help him with his search (6 + 1, just like a volleyball team!). Adventure and bravery, positive values and team spirit, ambition and commitment, dreams and hopes: Toei Animation and Trenkwalder Modena share goals and projects. Rinaldi and Ciabattini are ready to guide Trenkwalder Modena "All'arrembaggio" (on board of the ship)!!!

Palasport Giuseppe Panini (Modena) – A nice victory was reached by Trenkwalder Modena in the prestigious friendly match of today’s afternoon at Palasport Giuseppe Panini against Panathinaikos Athens, the line-up that will join the next Champions League. A very positive performance of the Gialloblù team that’s preparing itself for its debùt in the championship (Monday the 29th of September in Montichiari).

Andrea Giani (without Lee, Murilo and Dennis) has lined up setter Travica with Kooistra opposite hitter, Sartoretti and Siebeck hitters in position 4, Tencati and Sidao central. Whereas Panathinaikos played with Psrass in charge, Agamez opposite hitter, Andrae and Lapps hitters, Geric and Pantaleon central and Stefanov opposite hitter. From the second set Pagni in the field for Sidao, while from the third set hitter Bartoli played central for Tencati. First set in favour of the Greeks who were better at service and replay, while during the second set the Gialloblù set off and made the difference with blocks and with a great Siebeck. The third set is for Panathinaikos dragged by Agamez, but Trenkwalder wins the fourth set with Smuc in charge and with Pagni (5 personal blocks in total) and Kooistra (6 blocks in the match), determinded in attacks and blocks. The fifth set very balanced (still with Smuc as setter): in the end Modena wins 19-17.
Dragan Travica (Trenkwalder Modena setter): “It was a good test: also today showed that we are working a lot and well in this training period. We’re trying to find harmony in a new team and the feelings are positive. Sartoretti hitter? What can we say about Sarto: he has experience and quality, he doesn’t make us feel the change in position; and in the field he’s a player of great character, I would say a real captain. Kooistra? Really good, he is growing and so is our understanding. I’m also satisfied on a personal level: for now we go on working this way”.
On Sunday, from 4.30 pm, Trenkwalder Modena will play a fascinating tournament at Palasport di Carpi (Modena) with Copra Piacenza and Yoga Forlì.

17.09.2008 - ANDREA GIANI: "THE GROUP IS GROWING". TOMORROW, THURSDAY, TEST AT PALAPANINI WITH PANATHINAIKOS

After the transfer in Finland to join an international tournament, Trenkwalder Modena is in the sports club again from Tuesday to train at Palasport Giuseppe Panini while it’s facing the beginning of the championship (Monday the 29th of September “Monday Night” in Montichiari).

This morning we had a moment at the Gialloblù home base with trainer Andrea Giani. “The tournament in Finland? Very positive experience, it was important to play these matches in this part of the season. We did well in the first two (with Valepa and Eltmann), in the third (with Loimu) I shuffled the cards a bit and put the young players in the game, and we were able to manage the fifth set a lot better (Modena won 8-2 and 14-11 before yielding 17-15). I would have liked it if the young players had the satisfaction of winning that match. In general I’m satisfied with this month and a half of training: I see so much enthousiasm, I see a group that’s growing and I am struck by the self-sacrifice and effort the guys put into every training – continues Andrea Giani – The casualties? We shouldn’t think about who isn’t there (Dennis, Lee and Murilo). We are very confident and think positively, this is the team that will play in Montichiari and we know we can do very well. Travica and Kooistra? The “diagonal” is going up. Wytze is getting more and more confident in his new position, sure, he still has to work on some types of balls, especially the spike, but he has everything he needs to reach high levels, while Dragan appears to be the “catch” of the leader.

FRIENDLY: TOMORROW, THURSDAY, PANATHINAIKOS AT PALAPANINI. Tomorrow afternoon, on Thursday the 18th of September, around 5 pm (the warming up starts at about 4.30 pm), Trenkwalder Modena and the Greeks of Panathinaikos Athens, who will also join next season’s Champions League, will be playing a friendly match at Palasport Giuseppe Panini.

Raiso (Turku, Finland) - Second match on Finnish land and second victory for Trenkwalder Modena. This time it's the German Eltmann team that is struck by the shots of Sartoretti and his team-mates. A good heat from Gialloblù, that started the match very well. A good approach that wasn't repeated in the second set however, with the Germans dragged by the young central Bauer, fresh European vice-champion with the national German Juniores, responsible for a good five blocks. But after undergoing the getting even of Eltmann, Trenkwalder controls the match again and scores the second success on Finnish land.
